a)   Veterinary Medicine Professional Program (PPDH/Program Profesi Dokter Hewan)

The Veterinary Medicine Professional Education Program (PPDH) is a continuation of the Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) at IPB University. Graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree (Sarjana Kedokteran Hewan, SKH) program can earn the title of Veterinarian (drh) after completing the Professional Education Program in Veterinary Medicine at SKHB IPB by taking 37 credits over 18 months (3 semesters).

The PPDH program at SKHB IPB consists of two educational activities: intramural and extramural. Intramural activities take place on campus, while extramural activities occur off-campus. Intramural activities are held during the first and second semesters, while extramural activities are conducted during the second and third semesters.

Before each semester, students undergo soft skills development, Studium Generale, and character building activities. Intramural activities in the first semester include: Prescription and Drug Application, Surgery and Radiology, Internal Medicine and Clinical Pathology, Reproduction and Obstetrics, and Diagnostic Laboratory. In the second semester, intramural activities include Pathological Diagnostics, Veterinary Public Health, and Epidemiology. Extramural activities in the second semester involve internships at hospitals, government agencies, slaughterhouses, poultry health, and cattle health. In the third semester, extramural activities include Animal Welfare and elective internships, such as a) Veterinary Product Industry, b) Horse Health Management, c) Quarantine, d) Wildlife Health Management, e) Aquatic Animal Health Management, f) Laboratory Animal Management, and g) Elective Professions according to the student’s interests outside the provided options.

Students who have completed all intramural and extramural activities will take the Competency Exam for the Veterinary Medicine Professional Program (UKMPPDH), organized by the Directorate of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The UKMPPDH serves as the exit exam. The PPDH program concludes with the completion of the Final Examination for Veterinary Medicine Studies (UASDH).

b) Professional Engineer Program (PPI/Program Profesi Insinyur)

IPB offers the Professional Engineer Program (PPI) through two methods of professional education: the regular program and the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program.

  • Regular Program

The regular PPI program at IPB is open to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied engineering who have at least 2 years of practical engineering experience. Additionally, the regular program is also open to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in science or technical education, provided they are recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e., with more than 3 years of practical experience). The recognition process involves aligning and integrating learning achievements obtained through education, vocational training, and work experience for those with a degree in technical education or science, offered by the PPI IPB.

The regular program takes place over 2 semesters and involves various learning activities, including face-to-face meetings, tutorials, focus group discussions (FGDs), reading assignments, role-playing, pre- and post-tests, independent tasks, group assignments (e.g., project/problem-based learning, and collaborative-based learning), participation in scientific meetings, writing project proposals and engineering reports, and oral presentations.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program acknowledges the learning achievements of individuals acquired through formal, non-formal, informal education, and/or work experience in the education sector or other sectors. The PPI program offers RPL for graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Engineering who have adequate practical engineering experience, or for graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Technical Education who meet the equivalency requirements and have sufficient practical engineering experience.

RPL is conducted through the assessment and recognition of the participant’s portfolio against the semester credit unit (SKS) requirements established by PPI IPB. Any credit deficiencies are subsequently addressed through the implementation of the PPI curriculum. The learning process in the RPL program takes place over 1 semester. The learning process, assessment, and graduation requirements are essentially the same as those in the regular program.

The IPB Professional Engineer Program offers 7 fields of engineering, namely: (1) Agriculture and Agricultural Products; (2) Fisheries and Marine; (3) Animal Husbandry; (4) Forestry; (5) Agricultural Industry; (6) Civil and Environmental Engineering; (7) Applied Sciences.

The requirements for this program are:

a. Graduation from an academic Bachelor’s degree in engineering/Applied Engineering, Science, or Technical Education, with at least 2 years of practical engineering work experience;

b. Graduates with a degree in Science or Technical Education must have completed an equivalency program with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Applied Engineering, and have at least 2 years of engineering work experience;

c. Graduates from universities and study programs with a minimum accreditation of B (Very Good) or C (Good), with a minimum GPA of 3.00, or from foreign universities listed in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Dikti).

c) Dietitian Profession Program

  • Program Reguler

The Dietitian Profession Program requires 38 credits, including orientation and professional work practice (internship), which takes place at hospitals for clinical nutrition rotation, health offices, community health centers, athlete nutrition clinics, and wellness program companies for community nutrition rotation, as well as non-commercial food service institutions (hospitals) and commercial food service (catering) for the Food Service Management (MPM) rotation. The program is scheduled over two semesters (48 weeks). A total of 17 courses are required, beginning with an orientation/preparatory session at the start of the academic year, followed by internships at designated practice locations.

The requirements for this program are as follows:

1. Graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition (S.Gz.) from a program with at least a B accreditation in Indonesia, or graduates of the Community Nutrition and Family Resources Program (S.P) from IPB who already hold a Nutritionist Professional Certificate (STR Nutrisionis) and are currently working or have worked in a hospital;

2. Prospective students may be graduates of S.Gz. who are either employed or unemployed, with a maximum age of 40 years;

3. In good health, as evidenced by a health certificate from a government hospital;

4. Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 for graduates of the Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition;

6. The bachelor’s GPA has been synchronized in the PDDIKTI Neo Feeder system.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Dietitian Program

The RPL-PP Dietitian Professional Education Program is a shortened professional education path at a university based on the recognition of learning outcomes from formal, non-formal education, and work experience that are equivalent to the qualifications of a Dietitian. This RPL is prioritized for lecturers, clinical instructors, and practitioners. The RPL Dietitian Professional Education can be completed within 6 months. Assessment results from portfolios and interviews are recognized to meet a minimum of 19 credits, and if exceeded, up to a maximum of 28 credits from the total 38 credits.
