1. Graduation Requirements and Rights

a. Student is declared graduated upon fulfilling the applicable academic and administrative requirements.

b. The issuance of degree certificate and transcripts is based on the Certificate of Graduation issued by the respective Faculty/School. The handover of degree certificate and final transcripts is in accordance with the regulations of IPB

c. Students who have fulfilled the graduation requirements for Bachelor’s, Applied Bachelor’s, Professional, Master’s, and Doctoral programs and meet the requirements for attending the commencement ceremony or professional oath-taking are referred to as Graduates.

2. National Degree and Professional Certificate Numbering (PISN/Sertifikat Profesi Nasional)

According to Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 6 of 2022 on Diplomas, Competency Certificates, Professional Certificates, Academic Degrees, and the Equivalence of Foreign Higher Education Diplomas, the National Diploma and Professional Certificate Numbering (PISN) system must be implemented by higher education institutions no later than two years from the enactment of the regulation. This means that the National Diploma Number (NINa/Nomor Ijazah Nasional) must be included in diplomas issued for IPB graduates with a graduation date on or after December 29, 2020.

The PISN format, established by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, is applied nationally with the following structure:

T. Degree Ceritificate, Professional Certificate, Final Transcript, and Academic Title

1. Issuance of Degree Certificate, Professional Certificate, and Final Transcript

a) For graduates as of February 1, 2025, the issuance of degree certificate, professional certificates, and final transcript will be in the form of digital documents with certified electronic signatures (Digital Signature). The digital documents referred to are in PDF file format and consist of the original degree certificate, professional certificate, and final transcript. The digital degree certificate, professional certificate, and final transcript will be provided or delivered through the student portal, and the copy/printed version through the Integrated Service Center (ISC), in accordance with the IPB’s regulations and requirements.

The digital degree certificate is issued in a single document in bilingual language (Indonesian and English) and the Final Transcript is issued in two separate digital documents in Indonesian and English. And for the Certificate and Final Transcript for professional programs are each issued as a single digital document in bilingual language (Indonesian and English).

Degree Certificate, Professional Certificates, and Digital Final Transcripts do not require legalization. The validity and authenticity of the issued Degree Certification, Professional Certificates, and Digital Final Transcripts are verified by scanning the barcode and/or by verifying through the website address listed on the document.

b) For graduates before February 1, 2025, the issuance of degree certificates, professional certificates, and final transcripts will be in printed documents with original signatures. The printed documents referred to are the original certificates, professional certificates, and final transcripts. The degree certificates, professional certificates, and final transcripts can be taken at the Integrated Service Center (ISC) with terms and conditions apply.

The digital degree certificate is issued in a single document in bilingual language (Indonesian and English) and the Final Transcript is issued in two separate digital documents in Indonesian and English. And for the Certificate and Final Transcript for professional programs are each issued as a single digital document in bilingual language (Indonesian and English).

2. Degree Certificate, Professional Certificate, Final Transcript Components

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 50 of 2024 on Degree Certificates, Competency Certificates, and Professional Certificates in Higher Education, higher education institutions are required to issue a degree certificate and a final transcript to graduates as proof of study completion.

Furthermore, this regulation specifies the mandatory components that must be included in both documents.

Mandatory Components of a Degree Certificate:

  1. National Degree Certificate Number (NINa)
  2. Institution Logo
  3. Institution Name
  4. Accreditation Decision Number of the Institution and/or Study Program
  5. Higher Education Program
  6. Study Program Name
  7. Study Program Identification Number
  8. Full Name of the Certificate Holder
  9. Place and Date of Birth of the Certificate Holder
  10.  Student Identification Number
  11.  Academic Title and Its Abbreviation
  12.  Date, Month, and Year of Graduation
  13.  Place, Date, Month, and Year of Issuance of the Degree Certificate
  14.  Name, Position, and Signature of the University Official Authorized to Sign the Certificate

Mandatory Components of a Final Academic Transcript:

  1. Academic Transcript Number

3. Academic Title

a) Academic titles at IPB University are determined by a Rector’s Decree.

b) IPB University reserves the right to revoke an academic title if, at a later date, any form of academic misconduct—such as plagiarism, forgery, or other fraudulent activities—is discovered. The revocation of the academic title is formalized through a Rector’s Decree.

U. Diploma Supplement (Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah – SKPI)

The Diploma Supplement (SKPI) provides additional information on students’ academic achievements, including accomplishments in co-curricular, extracurricular, or non-formal education activities.

V. Graduation Ceremony

  1. The graduation ceremony is an official academic event held as an Open Session of the Institute for the conferment of degree certificates to graduates. This ceremony is conducted at the university level.
  2. The handover of degree certificates, professional certificates, and final transcripts is regulated in the Rector’s Decree.
  3. Graduation registration is conducted through the studentportal.ipb.ac.id system, provided that the following requirements have been completed: (1) Issuance of the Certificate of Graduation (official graduate status), and (2) Completion of the graduation fee payment.
  4. The Rector designates the best graduates, who are awarded academic achievement recognition during the graduation ceremony.
  5. The selection of the best graduate is based on the following criteria: (1) Graduation honors; (2) Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA); (3) Duration of study; (4) Conduct, and (5) Engagement in relevant academic and extracurricular activities.
  6. The list of graduates is officially determined through a Rector’s Decree.
