Learning Hours (LH) refer to all planned learning activities that lead to the achievement of learning outcomes for a given program or qualification. The LH concept introduced in the K2020 Multistrata Curriculum aligns with the definition of Activity Hours as outlined in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Merdeka Belajar policy. In the first-year undergraduate program (PKU), there are two learning activities categorized under LH: English Language and Sports/Arts.
Undergraduate students who wish to pursue Sports/Arts activities within PKU may convert these activities into credit-bearing courses by registering them in the academic system (KRS) during the odd or even semester and enrolling in the Healthy Lifestyle course (course code: IPB1101 (0-1)). Alternatively, students may fulfill this requirement through one of the following options:
a. Joining a Student Activity Unit (UKM) focused on sports or arts.
b. Participating in a sports or arts club outside the university.
c. Attending a training course (TC) organized by local government authorities in preparation for specific competitions (e.g., regional games, national games, international events).
d. Engaging in independent sports or arts activities (minimum once per week, 150 minutes per session).
Activities conducted through UKMs, external clubs, or training courses must be equivalent to 14 sessions of 2 hours each. Students are required to provide documentation including:
- A description and syllabus of the activity
- A schedule of sessions
- Attendance records, all of which must be logged in the student portal’s activity logbook.
Assessment is conducted by the UKM advisor or designated coach.
Undergraduate students intending to fulfill the English Language requirement in PKU must register for the course in the academic system (KRS) during the odd or even semester using the course code IPB110F 2(1-1). The requirement may be met through one of the following methods:
a. Submitting a recognized English proficiency certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) in accordance with the policy set by the English Language Coordinator.
b. Joining the English Debate Student Activity Unit (UKM).
c. Attending scheduled PKU English classes, which consist of one 50-minute lecture and one 60-minute tutorial session per week.
Activity Hours are also used to determine credit equivalency (sks) for multi-activity Enrichment Courses. These hours include:
- Directed Learning: lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratory practice, workshops, fieldwork, and similar structured activities.
- Independent Learning: time spent studying, completing assignments, conducting practical tasks, and preparing for and undertaking formative and summative assessments.
