4. International Undergraduate Program (IUP)
a) The International Undergraduate Program is open to prospective bachelor’s students from both domestic and international backgrounds.
b) Admission for Indonesian citizens is conducted in two phases: the first phase is based on academic transcripts; the second phase is based on the SM-IPB entrance examination results.
c) International students applying to the International Undergraduate Program are categorized into two groups:
– First-year applicants: International students who have completed high school (SMA/MA/SMK) or an equivalent diploma program abroad and wish to enroll in an bachelor’s program at IPB University.
– Transfer students: International students currently enrolled in a university abroad who wish to transfer to IPB University for one of the following purposes: (1) Continuing their studies (credit transfer); (2) Taking specific courses, and (3) Conducting special assignments or research
d) Requirements
For International Applicants (WNA):
– Must have completed high school (SMA/MA/SMK) with a satisfactory academic record. Transfer students must provide an official transcript from their previous institution, which must be accredited/recognized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology;
– Must provide proof of English proficiency with one of the following minimum scores: TOEFL iBT: 53; TOEFL ITP: 477; IELTS: 5.5; Duolingo English Test: 80; MUET: 3.5 (or score range 164-210). Applicants without an English proficiency certificate must take an English placement test;
– Maximum age: 25 years old;
– Must pass the selection/entrance examination;
– Admitted students must obtain a study permit from the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This permit must be requested through the Indonesian diplomatic mission in their home country if residing abroad, or through their country’s embassy in Indonesia if already residing in Indonesia.
For Indonesian Applicants:
– Must be an Indonesian citizen (WNI);
– Must have graduated from high school (SMA/MA/SMK) in Indonesia or abroad in 2024. Graduates from overseas institutions must have a National Student Identification Number (NISN) and an officially standardized academic transcript;
– Must be in good physical and mental health;
– Must provide an official English proficiency certificate from a recognized institution.
– Accepted minimum English proficiency test scores: TOEFL iBT: 53; TOEFL ITP: 477; IELTS: 5.5; Duolingo English Test: 80; MUET: 3.5 (or score range 164-210). Applicants without an English proficiency certificate must take an English placement test.
e) Admission Process
– Prospective students can apply to IPB through the admission portal at pendaftaran.admisi.ipb.ac.id;
– Upon acceptance, students must complete the online registration process by submitting the following documents:
a. 2024 International Indonesian Student Participant Card;
b. Original Report Card (Student Identity Page);
c. Original Report Card for Semesters 1–5;
d. Birth Certificate;
e. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates (First, Second, and Booster);
f. Original Graduation Certificate (if unavailable, a letter confirming enrollment in Grade 12 must be provided);
g. Original High School Diploma (front and back pages combined into a single file);
h. Declaration of Commitment to Enroll as a New Student at IPB;
i. Parental/Guardian Statement of Financial Commitment for Educational Expenses;
j. Declaration of Commitment to Participate in IPB’s Academic Program.
For international students (WNA), in addition to the required documents listed above, the following additional documents must be uploaded:
1) Curriculum Vitae (CV);
2) Certified copy of the high school diploma, including a list of academic achievements legalized by the authorized official, or an official transcript of completed courses from the previous university. Transfer students must also upload a photo with a maximum size of 500KB;
3) Letter of financial guarantee from parents or the sponsoring institution covering living and educational expenses;
4) Statement letter declaring that the student will not engage in any employment while studying in Indonesia;
5) Statement letter confirming that the student will not participate in political activities in Indonesia and will comply with all applicable regulations in Indonesia;
6) Health certificate.
Requirements 1–6 are mandatory documents for obtaining a Study Permit from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which is necessary for processing a Student Visa.
