Semester Assessment

Semester Assessment

Semester study success assessment is conducted at the end of each semester. This assessment includes all courses planned by students in a valid Course Registration Sheet (KRS) for that semester, using the following GPA formula:

IP : Grade Point Average (GPA)

Ni : Grade points of course i

n  : Number of courses in a semester

ki : Credit weight of course i

Students can independently download their semester study performance assessment from the student portal. If there are changes in grades after the document has been downloaded, students must re-download it to obtain the latest version.

The GPA obtained in the respective semester determines the maximum study load (credits) for the following semester.

Evaluation of progress and study duration follows these provisions:

Evaluation of Students in Semester 1

1. At the end of Semester 1, the Graduate School (SPs) evaluates the GPA of students on probation status.

2. Students on probation with a GPA below 3.00 (Master’s) or 3.25 (Doctoral’s) may face dismissal (Drop Out/DO). However, students with a GPA ≥ 2.75 (Master’s) or ≥ 3.00 (Doctoral’s) and no grade E may apply for a program transfer.

3. Active students must complete re-registration (KRS submission). Students who fail to re-register will be classified as Inactive.

Evaluation of Students in Semester 2

1. At the end of Semester 2, the Graduate School (SPs) evaluates students’ GPA.

2. Students with grade E, GPA below 3.00 (Master’s) or 3.25 (Doctoral’s), and/or disciplinary violations may face dismissal (DO).

3. Active students must complete re-registration (KRS submission).

4. Master’s students who have not conducted their colloquium and Doctoral students who have not passed their qualification exam will receive a Study Progress Warning Letter.

Evaluation of Students in Semester 3 and Beyond

  1. At the end of Semester 3, SPs evaluates students’ study duration and GPA.
  2. Students with grade E, GPA below 3.00 (Master’s) or 3.25 (Doctoral’s), and/or disciplinary violations may face dismissal (DO).
  3. Active students must complete re-registration (KRS submission).
  4. Master’s students who have not conducted their colloquium by Semester 3 and Doctoral students who have not passed their qualification exam by Semester 5 will receive a Study Progress Warning Letter.
  5. Master’s students will receive: Warning Letter (SP) after exceeding Semester 4 or 5; Strict Warning Letter (SPK) after exceeding Semester 6; DO Warning Letter (SPDO) after exceeding Semester 7
  6. Doctoral students will receive: SP after exceeding Semester 6 or 7; SPK after exceeding Semester 8 or 9; SPDO after exceeding Semester 10
  7. Master’s students who have not conducted their colloquium by Semester 4 and Doctoral students who have not conducted their qualification exam and colloquium by Semester 6 will receive a
  8. recommendation for withdrawal. If the student chooses not to withdraw, the Head of the Study Program must review the student’s Advisory Committee.
  9. The home faculty Dean issues SP, SPK, and Study Progress Warning Letters based on evaluation meeting results.
  10. The SPs Dean issues SPDO.
  11. The SPs Dean recommends the Rector to issue a DO Decision Letter based on evaluation results.
  12. The DO status is determined by the Rector’s Decree.
