Academic Advisor

  1. Bachelor’s and Applied Bachelor’s Program students admitted to a study program will be assigned an Academic Advisor (Dosen PP)
  2. The appointment of Academic Advisor is determined by a Dean’s Decree based on recommendations from the Head of the Department/Study Program.
  3. Duties of Academic Advisor
    a. Act as a mentor, companion, advisor, and academic and non-academic counselor, motivating and inspiring individual students or student groups throughout their studies at IPB, from the first semester until graduation;
    b. Guide students in formulating complementary competencies, which supplement their study program competencies to broaden their perspectives, enhance their skill diversity, and improve their competitiveness. These competencies can be fulfilled through supporting courses offered by departments or other universities;
    c. Provide guidance to students on: a) Developing a Comprehensive Study Plan (RSP) and a semester-based course registration (KRS). The RSP outlines the student’s academic activities until graduation, while the KRS details their academic activities for a specific semester; b) The process of completing the KRS; andc) Study policies, including considerations regarding the number of academic credits (SKS) students may take in the upcoming semester.
    d. Perform counseling functions, including: a) Assisting students in ensuring smooth progress in their studies; b) Advising on effective learning strategies; c) Guiding students on utilizing references and reading techniques; d) Introducing various learning resources, both on and off-campus; e) Helping students manage their time effectively; f) Monitoring and recording students’ academic progress regularly; g) Providing information to course lecturers regarding students facing academic difficulties; and h) Offering support for students dealing with personal challenges, such as environmental adjustment, personality development, and other related concerns.
    e. Provide recommendations to the Department/Faculty leadership regarding the completion of studies for assigned students.
